1. General Information of Sodium Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose(CMC-Na)

CMC as a good stabilizer and binder is applied in the tile ground glaze and cover glaze. Since glaze slip is unstable and easy to precipitate, CMC with good dispersity and protective colloid can help keep the glaze body in a stable dispersed state. With the addition of CMC, the surface tension of blanks can be enhanced to slow down water diffusion from glaze to blanks and increase the smoothness of glaze in case of crack and printing fracture in the transportation process caused by the decreased strength of green body after glazing and glazed pin-hole after agglomeration.

2. Application and procedure of Sodium Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose(CMC-Na)                                 

The general amount of CMC in ground glaze and cover glaze is 0.08%-0.30%, adjustable based on the climate change. Generally the usage in winter should be less than that in summer, and less on damp and rainy days. Manufacturers can choose CMC with different degrees of polymerization according to their own production condition and techniques. The best time for addition is around 1-3 hours before ball-out.

CMC is packed in 25 kg kraft bags with pallets.
